About Me
Biography
Jermain understands a strong game plan and preparation are the keys to success -- lessons learned while playing college football and as a lifelong athlete. Preparing for high-level competition required relentless discipline, attention to detail, and a willingness to get back on his feet after a hard hit.
After college, Jermain followed a passion for sharing his knowledge and skills with the next generation by working as a middle school and high school teacher in Detroit, Michigan, and Washington, D.C. Those experiences helped shape Jermain's appreciation for the challenges families face daily.
After embarking on his legal career, Jermain worked at the United States Attorney's Office in the District of Maryland, where he successfully obtained guilty verdicts in all of his federal trials. In that role, Jermain routinely worked to ensure convictions in cases involving murder, drug and human trafficking, RICO, child exploitation, wire fraud, mail fraud, public corruption, and other complicated issues. Jermain later gained extensive experience with divorce, custody, handling complex asset division, modification matters, child and spousal support, remedial contempt, and other domestic relations issues.
A native of Richmond, Virginia, Jermain brought a love of fishing (from the deep-sea to a local catfish hole) to the West Coast. A childhood spent playing percussion inspired a love of jazz, and he continues staying active by lifting weights and enjoying the outdoors.
